My Philosophy
Personal Training and Sports Coaching
In order to stay consistent with exercise you need to find an activity you enjoy doing and do it regularly. That being said I also encourage people to be open to trying new things.
Strength training/weight lifting and cardiovascular exercises will help you maintain a healthy bone density, gain muscle, lose body fat and aid in overall health, just to name a few of the benefits.
When it comes to transforming your body, exercise is helpful, but nutrition is key. What you do in a gym won't matter if you eat like crap.
My playful, yet motivating personality, along with my overall knowledge of fitness, and sports conditioning is what has allowed me to be successful in the fitness industry for over 25 yrs. I take pride in my experience, adaptability, education and continued education to assist my clients. My philosophy as a personal trainer / strength and conditioning coach, is to express my passion for fitness, health and self discipline. I aim to teach, coach and educate my clients to reach their fitness goals and achieve optimal health.
Nutrition
When it comes to nutrition advice/tips there's a dime a dozen. It seems these days everyone is a nutrition coach. But are they really? It can be hard to decipher what is actually good advice and what's not. Deciphering what is actually good advice in general versus what is good advice for you specifically is what's most challenging. Because as some may have figured out what works for one, may not work for you. As much as some nutritionist believe nutrition/macros is a science, I do not believe it's that black and white. In my many years of coaching clients nutritionally I have found that adapting to clients "healthy food" likes and dislikes have allowed them to be most successful. Cause lets face it not everyone wants chicken, broccoli and sweet potato every meal. Honestly I don't blame them. I specifically have built my programs around sustainability and education. Just like exercise you will no stick to something if you don't enjoy it, therefore food/eating still needs to be enjoyable.
The key here to realize is that there is no magic pill. When coaching clients I go back to the drawing board again and again to find exactly what will work best for them. My nutrition programs are not cookie cutter. They are personalized to the clients goals, and needs and wants.
Achieving optimal weight, and body fat can be challenging. Especially if your starting point is higher. However, there are tools that can be implemented to assist you reach your best self, and stay there for healthy life.
Here are some examples.
- Keep it Simple
- Keep a Food Log
- Enjoy what you eat
- Have a replenish meal (cheat meal) 1 x weekly
- Must eat carbs
- Plan Ahead
- Eat enough
Life Coaching - Your Source for Personal Growth
My belief is that in order to live your best life you have to live your most authentic life. The decision to be authentic is the most important decision we make in our lives, and it’s one we have to keep making over and over again. To be authentic means you must be vulnerable and be able to acquire inner transparency in your own life. With my guidance more and more clients are gaining the mentality that is standing in their way of progress, taking risks and following their gut. I am helping clients achieve the freedom to let go, stop second-guessing themselves and feel confident. Even the strongest among us can feel lost, unsure, ambivalent, or unhappy at times. I believe that when you are making these decisions, particularly the one big decision at that time, as long as your best self is guiding you, you can’t go wrong. As a professionally trained and certified Life and Wellness Coach, I will help you understand and manage whatever life throws at you, and how to do it successfully. Together we will theorize, strategize about actual decisions that will help you create a better life. Because let’s face it, a better life doesn’t just fall into our lap. We have to make conscious decisions that line you up toward a better life. My clients are learning how not to make the best decision for their life, instead to make the decisions as their best self. I believe that through authenticity you have the strength not just to survive, but to truly thrive.
